What’s New in Office 95
Posted on March 25, 2025
Microsoft Word 95 dropped in—you guessed it—1995, and it was a game-changer for anyone rocking a PC in the mid-‘90s. It was part of the Microsoft Office 95 suite and built to run on Windows 95, which meant smoother multitasking and a cleaner interface than the clunky versions before it. This was the first 32-bit version of Word, which basically meant it could handle more without crashing every five minutes. It introduced toolbars that actually made sense, better formatting tools, and AutoCorrect—yeah, that little guy who still haunts us today. It set the tone for Word 97, which came just two years later with even more polish. Word 95 wasn’t flashy, but it got the job done, and for a ton of people, it was their first taste of real word processing on a modern OS.
