Lotus 1-2-3 Installation

Lotus 1-2-3 dropped in 1983 and straight-up dominated the spreadsheet game through the '80s. It combined spreadsheets, graphics, and basic database functions into one program—hence the “1-2-3”—and it basically carried IBM PCs on its back. Version 2.0 came in ’85, brought macros and faster performance. By 1989, version 3.0 added menus and better graphics support, but honestly, things started slowing down when Microsoft Excel hit Windows hard in the '90s. Lotus tried to keep up with 4.0 in ’93 and even a Windows version, but it never really bounced back. Still, if you were crunching numbers on a beige box in the Reagan era, Lotus 1-2-3 was your go-to.
