Kid Pix for Windows 3.11
Posted on October 20, 2025
Kid Pix on Windows 3.11 was the peak “mess around and create” software for kids in the early ’90s. Originally built by Craig Hickman in 1989 and ported to Windows in 1991, it let you go wild with digital stamps, spray cans, wacky sounds, and those infamous “bomb” erase effects that blew up your whole drawing in a second. Kid Pix 1.0 was the first Windows release, then 2.0 (1992) added more wild tools and animation features that felt like magic back then. It was the art program every kid begged to mess with on the family PC, and if you grew up clicking around Windows 3.11, there’s a good chance you lost hours making pixel chaos in Kid Pix.
