The original iPhone dropped in June 2007 and basically rewired how we thought about phones—no keyboard, just a 3.5-inch multi-touch screen that felt futuristic at the time. It ran iPhone OS 1.0, had 4GB or 8GB of storage, a 2MP camera, and didn’t even support 3G yet—just EDGE. No App Store either; that didn’t show up until 2008 with iPhone OS 2 and the iPhone 3G. But it combined an iPod, a phone, and an internet communicator in one device, and that was enough to flip the industry on its head. Looking back, it feels simple now, but in 2007, this thing was pure magic.
