Happy 2026! Wishing you a year full of good health, happiness, and new tech memories we can look back on in 30 years! (CorelCENTRAL from Corel Suite 8)

CorelCENTRAL was Corel’s all-in-one personal information manager that shipped with the Corel WordPerfect Suite starting in the mid-’90s, right when everyone was trying to rival Microsoft Outlook. First introduced around 1996 with WordPerfect Suite 7, it bundled email, a calendar, contacts, tasks, and even a basic note pad into one place—perfect for the era when “organizing your life” meant actually clicking through tabs on Windows 95. CorelCENTRAL 8 and 9 (late ’90s into early 2000s) tightened integration with WordPerfect and Quattro Pro, but updates were more about polishing than innovation, and by the early 2000s, it faded as Outlook and webmail dominated. If you remember the dopamine hit of hearing that old-school “ding” for new mail in CorelCENTRAL, you were living peak late-’90s office life.
