Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project dropped on the NES in February 1992, and if you were a kid with a controller back then, you know this was peak TMNT gaming at home. Konami took everything fans loved from the arcade-style beat ’em ups and cranked it up: 8 levels, new moves for each Turtle, and co-op that made sleepovers legendary. The setup was classic—Shredder hijacks Manhattan and lifts it into the sky, and you’re smashing Foot Soldiers, surfing through sewers, and facing bosses like Bebop and Rocksteady to save the city. It didn’t hit arcades first like the previous games; this was a true NES exclusive, which meant everyone with a Nintendo had the same bragging rights.
