iOS 7 dropped on September 18, 2013, and it was the first time Apple completely tore up the old iPhone playbook. Out went the glossy skeuomorphic icons, in came flat, colorful graphics and that translucent “frosted glass” look that made your phone feel brand-new overnight. It wasn’t just a facelift—Control Center, AirDrop, and smarter multitasking showed up here too. People either loved it or thought it looked like a candy store, but it set the stage for every iOS update after. Over the next year, updates like 7.1 fixed bugs, sped things up, and added CarPlay support, proving iOS 7 wasn’t just a wild design experiment—it was Apple locking in the modern iPhone vibe.
